Hmm. Mainland Chinese and Taiwanese seem to think knowing *anything* authentic about Asia is cool—so it doesn't seem to apply there. SE Asians do not much like Weeb-ism. As for Koreans, many of them just start talking to me in Japanese, and I regret ever even mentioning anything about it.😓

You are far more experienced than I am with direct asian culture. While I have asian friends IRL, they are americanized. And My personal experience with asian culture is mostly due to StarCraft. And the expression of rage when they are bested in their own game. And also ofcourse sushi, bulgogi, and chinese food.
